WE HAVE REACHED OUR GOAL OF $1,000 FOR THE KIDS, THANK YOU!!

I am giving up a seat for my Q School Nov. 5-6 being held in Winter Haven, FL behind the Boy’s Club on beautiful Lake Cannon.

Click the PayPal link below to make a donation of $25 or more for the Winter Haven Citrus Center Boys and Girls Clubs. They have been our charity of choice for many years, because we see first-hand the goodness they bring to local kids in need. Each $25 donation will earn you a chance in a drawing for a free seat in my class which is valued at $500. My goal is to hit $1,000 for the kids. Each entry will have a 1 in 40 chance of winning. I will have a live Facebook drawing (Rub Bagby) and notify the winner. I will give a check for 100% of money donated to our Citrus Center Boy’s and Girl’s Clubs, and Swamp Boys will cover the PayPal fees. If you enter and don’t win, up to $50 of your donation to the Club can be deducted from your entry fee. It’s a win-win! Thanks for helping the kids and good luck!

This January 28 – 29, and then February 4-5, you can come eat world-class barbecue with Swamp Boys at 2 of the best events in the state.

The Lakeland Pigfest happens Friday, Jan. 28 from 5:00pm – 10:00pm, and again Saturday from 10:00am – 5:00pm. Parking is free and entry is $5, 12 and under are free. Buy Pig Bucks at the booth when you get there, then come find us. 20% of all of our sales will will go to help local charities.

Winter Haven’s Smoke on the Water is Friday and Saturday, Feb. 4 – 5. This is a major fundraiser for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Polk County, and 20% of our sales will be going back to the B&G Clubs. Admission on Friday is $10 and is more adult oriented with a party vibe. Saturday is for the family, with admission just $2 and kids 10 and under are free.

Insider tip for both events – come early. We cook all of our bbq fresh onsite, and we will run out before closing time. Also, we can package your food to-go, so you can enjoy it later. And check out this article from 3 years ago on How to Make the Most of a BBQ Contest as a Spectator.

Calling on the Swamp Boys Nation!   kidspack

It’s time for #SwampBoysNation to start collecting Chef Boyardee 7.5oz cans to give to kidsPACK!

KidsPack is an “organization dedicated to feeding homeless and hungry Polk County school children by providing them a backpack of nutritious food each Friday to sustain them on weekends.” What better way to make the World a better place than to start right here at home where we have far too many hungry kids. Polk County has one of the highest homeless kids percentages in the country. For many the only meals they get are the free lunch and free breakfast at school. The weekend presents a hungry time for these kids, and Kidspack helps fill it. I’m a newly retired 30 year teacher here in Polk County and I see directly all of the good that Kidspack does for our community.

Follow the Amazon link below (or find your own for 7.5oz can of Chef Boyardee, any flavor) and order what you can to help out. You can have it shipped directly to me, see graphic below for my address. I need to have all deliveries at my house by Feb. 20 so I can load them up and deliver to the Haines City Ribs on the Ridge bbq contest. Thank you for your support!
