On another note this was my last cookoff with my Stumps/Lang setup. They served me very well and now it’s time for the new chapter to begin.

We had another great class at the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park July 15-16. We had folks come in from KY, VA, SC, GA, CA, and FL. We covered everything about barbecue, from beginning to end. The students were eager to learn and everyone soaked it all in and left with confidence. There was a nice write-up about the class in the local paper up there that you can read about here.
A big thank you to our sponsors for the class:
3 Eyz BBQ
Bad Byron’s Butt Rub
Butcher BBQ
Dizzy Pig BBQ
Oakridge BBQ
Sorry Boys
Spicewine Ironworks
Stump’s Smokers
Thanks to everyone for making the trip, and I look forward to seeing you up on the stage and hearing about your successes!
Back in March I hosted my first competition-style barbecue class. I held it in north FL near the Suwannee River and we had a blast. Twenty five people from as far away as TX came to learn, and I showed them everything I know about competing over the two days. I covered everything from selecting the right meats right on up through building turn in boxes.
I had solicited the help of some rub and sauce manufacturing friends, and was able to provide samples to all from the following: 3 Eyz BBQ, BBQr’s Delight, Billy Bones BBQ,
Butcher’s BBQ, Butt Rub, Dizzy Pig, Head Country, HomeBBQ.com, Pork Pullin Plowboys, Rib Stars, The Slabs, and Spicewine Ironworks . A huge shout out to them for their support!
I hope to hold another class in the near future, so stay tuned for details. If you think you may be interested, shoot me an email so I can keep you updated.
